Excuses

Have you ever said, "I would or should or could have but..." or "I will get to it later but never do and justify why you didn't?" These statements, along with a long list of others, are often excuses for not doing something we were led to do that never happened. Some say it is procrastination, but in my devotions yesterday, Holy Spirit said these are excuses and lead to disobedience. As I prayed, I understood that no one knows how many days they have on Earth or when the Messiah will return. We must be vigilant to complete the task we are given, and timing is important. Each of us has a purpose, and others benefit from the ministry that was placed inside of us. The task given could be tied to the life or breakthrough of another. Our delay or failure to act can cause setbacks and failures in the lives of others.
By definition, excuses are attempts to lessen the blame attached to a fault or seeking to defend, justify, or release someone from a duty or requirement. What if the Most High gave excuses as to why the breath we needed this morning did not come, or the protection needed was late, or that He would get to us later?
Let's be diligent and busy about Our Father's business like the Messiah, for we have no idea the impact our deeds may have. It made me recognize the urgency of obedience and the benefit to others.
Prayer:
Thank you, Father, for this day. We bless your holy name and thank you for the plan you created from the foundation of the world for each of us who call ourselves Your children. Please forgive me for any excuses I have made or procrastination regarding the deeds I was destined to do and completed them late or not at all. Please bless my brothers and sisters whom I harmed unintentionally. If there is an opportunity, I can still complete the undone task; please give me the grace and the ability to complete the assignment. I know my steps are ordered, and I pray that from this day forward, I follow your plan and make the steps in the timing you have planned for my life, because they matter. In the mighty name of Yeshua. Amen.
