2 Corinthians 5:17 Therefore, if anyone is united with the Messiah, he is a new creation — the old has passed; look, what has come is fresh and new!

I was driving to a wedding I was officiating on Saturday, the Eighth Day festival, and I heard the Spirit say, “This is a new beginning for you too!” I began thinking about how “all things new”and letting go of your “old self” sounds so exciting, and yet I realized as wonderful as it is, it requires work! Work in the sense of letting go of familiar places, people, and things. The new requires no longer turning to old behaviors, thoughts, and ways. Our minds are to be renewed, letting go of the world to know, agree, and do what G-d wants (cf. Romans 12:1-2). Only His agenda, not mine. I pondered what needed to change right now, today! It is a new life in alignment with the life the Messiah had while here on earth, as He was always busy about His father’s business, we too must always seek first the Kingdom of G-d and His righteousness (cf. Matthew 6:33, 12:50; Luke 2:49; Philippians 2:5-16).
I was then able to see places that had to be renewed in my mind and life and started working on them. I even enlisted the help of people the Most High showed me that could help prepare me to walk in this NEW place. For that I was grateful as I needed help and He provided it, because He knew I was sincere in making the change. It is important to seek wise counsel when led and to embrace chastening and pruning by the Most High when it comes to bring forth bigger fruit (cf. Proverbs 1, Hebrews 12:5-13). It may be difficult, even painful, but He knows what He is doing to bring forth the NEW “you” needed for this part of your journey here on earth. Thank you Most High for your lovingkindness!
On this Commitment Monday, I ask the Ruach HaKodesh (Holy Spirit) to show each of us the NEW places in our lives, what needs renewing, and how we are to accomplish what is required. The start of 5787 has been an exciting time, and I truly believe the Most High is going to pour out manifold blessings upon His children this year. He loves us and wants to use us for His Kingdom. Happy Monday, Family.
I hear to end with “behold old things have passed away, and all things are become NEW.”
Shalom Aleikhem
