Deuteronomy 5:29 (32) “Therefore you are to be careful to do as Adonai your God has ordered you; you are not to deviate either to the right or the left. 30 (33) You are to follow the entire way which Adonai your God has ordered you; so that you will live, things will go well with you, and you will live long in the land you are about to possess.

Isaiah 30:20 Though Adonai may give you but bread and water, and not very much of that; your teacher will no longer hide himself, but with your own eyes you will see your teacher. 21 With your ears you will hear a word from behind you: “This is the way; stay on it, whether you go to the right or the left.”

Joshua 1:7 Only be strong and very bold in taking care to follow all the Torah which Moshe my servant ordered you to follow; do not turn from it either to the right or to the left; then you will succeed wherever you go. 8 Yes, keep this book of the Torah on your lips, and meditate on it day and night, so that you will take care to act according to everything written in it. Then your undertakings will prosper, and you will succeed.

Proverbs 4:25 Let your eyes look straight ahead, fix your gaze on what lies in front of you. 26 Level the path for your feet, let all your ways be properly prepared; 27 then deviate neither right nor left; and keep your foot far from evil.

All of the scriptures today have common themes for us today as children of the Most High. First, we must obey the word of G-d in its entirety. The Most High gave very specific instructions (mitzvot). We have to follow them all without changing or twisting them to say what we want them to say to meet our expectations, so we can do what we want, how we want, when we want, and wander away from G-d’s intentions for our life plan.
Second, we have to stay focused and keep our eyes, heart, and mind on what is right in the sight of the LORD despite whatever the world says or allows. If it does not align with the word, it is not okay for us to follow it! Today with many ungodly behaviors and standards being permissible by pop culture and the laws of the land, it is easy to get lost or distracted by bad choices or decisions. Again, follow the word, and if it does not align, leave it alone. It may be easier to control these things where we live. Staying focused often requires separating ourselves from and not attending events where ungodly behavior is welcomed and promoted - e.g. concerts, raves, clubs, house parties, etc. where immoral sex, illicit drugs, unclean music, violence and other activities occur. Spiritual wickedness in high places have the authority in these places, and you are unknowingly subjected to their demonic influences by being present. Same for movies and TV shows promoting these behaviors. Your eyes and ear gates are open to these spiritual powers consciously and subconsciously. Those are just a few examples of how we can keep our eyes, ears, heart, and mind focused on godly things and the Most High.
The enemy and his evil lies would want us to think that G-d is keeping us from fun and pleasure. But NO! The Most High wants to bless and protect us; He wants us to prosper and succeed. He gives us instructions not to limit our lives, but to ensure we fully live our lives! Glory🔥His commandments help us to live the longest, healthiest, most productive, and successful lives possible.
The goal is for us to intentionally avoid evil and live holy, set apart lives for two main purposes: 1) to please the Most High and 2) by obeying His commandments, we live so things will go well with us, His children, and we live long in the land.
His instruction to stay on the straight and narrow path and not veer off to the left or right is for our good and filled with the Most High’s love and promise for us, Beloved. As the Sabbath approaches, reflect on those areas in your life that may need to be adjusted to live the best life the Most High has planned for you.
