Proverbs 3: 5 Trust in Adonai with all your heart; do not rely on your own understanding.
6 In all your ways acknowledge him; then he will level your paths.

Two power packed set of instructions to a son 3:5-6), a wise woman, and person (14:12; 16:25) that we today need to obey as we walk the path of life given to us by Our Creator.
First, we have to trust the Most High with our whole heart, totally believe Him, and walk in complete faith. Why? See Isaiah 55:8-11. Proverbs 14:12 let’s us know that trusting our own thoughts and thinking we know best can be dangerous, because we do not know our entire story: only the Most High does.
We can think we know the right way to go, and make a decision that looks right and good and end up in a very bad place that leads to disaster, hurt, and even total destruction. The human mind is not all knowing. That is why we must seek counsel from G-d and not rely only on what we think we know. Every decision needs to be G-d driven and approved, because He promises to guide us and make our path clear.
If your life path looks anything like my path through life so far, it has been filled with twists and turns, unfamiliar places, lifechanging choices, new territory, and all types of terrain that I never anticipated. Just yesterday, I had plans to go two different directions, and neither of them worked out how my “human mind” expected the Shabbat to go. That is a simple example, but very important illustration of the topic that only G-d knows what is best for us in each day we live, each situation we face, every choice we make on this path called “life”.
Remember, a choice that looks good and seems right to the human mind without G-d’s input may lead to ruin. Seek G-d: He knows the plan for your life. Trust Him: His instruction is best in all things!
