Genesis 1:26 Then G-d said, “Let us make humankind in our image, in the likeness of ourselves; and let them rule over the fish in the sea, the birds in the air, the animals, and over all the earth, and over every crawling creature that crawls on the earth.”
27 So G-d created humankind in his own image; in the image of G-d he created him: male and female he created them.
28 G-d blessed them: G-d said to them, “Be fruitful, multiply, fill the earth and subdue it. Rule over the fish in the sea, the birds in the air and every living creature that crawls on the earth.”

Genesis 6:13 G-d said to Noach, “The end of all living beings has come before me, for because of them the earth is filled with violence. I will destroy them along with the earth. 14 Make yourself an ark of gofer-wood; you are to make the ark with rooms and cover it with pitch both outside and inside. 15 Here is how you are to build it: the length of the ark is to be 450 feet, its width seventy-five feet and its height forty-five feet. 16 You are to make an opening for daylight in the ark eighteen inches below its roof. Put a door in its side; and build it with lower, second and third decks.
17 “Then I myself will bring the flood of water over the earth to destroy from under heaven every living thing that breathes; everything on earth will be destroyed. 18 But I will establish my covenant with you; you will come into the ark, you, your sons, your wife and your sons’ wives with you.
19 “From everything living, from each kind of living being, you are to bring two into the ark, to keep them alive with you; they are to be male and female. 20 Of each kind of bird, each kind of livestock, and each kind of animal creeping on the ground, two are to come to you, so that they can be kept alive. 21 Also take from all the kinds of food that are eaten, and collect it for yourself; it is to be food for you and for them.” 22 This is what Noach did; he did all that God ordered him to do.

The Spirit led us back to the beginning this morning. Everything and everyone on earth in Genesis 1 was created by G-d. His intention was for mankind to be like Him in all their ways and walk in the holiness of their Creator. The Bible does not say how many people were on the earth in Genesis before the flood, but scholars look at historical data and calculate it was more than a million and some estimate billions. Yet at the opening of Chapter 6, mankind had become evil to the point that all but eight of them were destroyed. Eight people, “eight” the number of new beginnings, were used to rebuild humanity after the Flood. Today there are approximately 8.3 billion people on earth according to United Nations data. Sadly, we see wickedness increasing rapidly across the Earth yet again.
Revelation lets us know that there is going to be another series of catastrophic events leading up to the return of the Messiah, and they are rapidly approaching. Many believe we are in the beginning of birth pains [sorrows] (cf. Matthew 24:8 read the entire chapter). Noah and the ark were a “type of salvation” foreshadowing this next Exodus led by Yeshua. While we know there are still some events that are biblically prophesied that have yet to occur before the end, let’s ask this question, “if today was the last day on Earth, would you be in the ark of safety?” The point the Ruach HaKodesh (Holy Spirit) emphasized this morning about being set apart, as the “remnant” in the ark of safety as believers in Yeshua, is the children of the Most High, like Noah and his family, will clearly NOT look like and act like the majority of people on Earth.
First, the Most High’s children are commanded to be righteous, walking with G-d in His image and character (blameless in character), holy, upright, no harmful language coming from our mouths, only good words that are helpful in meeting the need, words that will benefit those who hear them. We will not cause grief to G-d’s Ruach HaKodesh, for he has stamped us as His until the day of final redemption. We will continuously get rid of any bitterness, rage, anger, violent assertiveness and slander, along with all spitefulness. We will instead, be kind to each other, tenderhearted; and forgive each other, just as in the Messiah G-d has also forgiven us (cf. Genesis 6:9; Leviticus 19:2; 1 Peter 1:16; Ephesians 4:29-32).
This week we will visit what the people of G-d are to be TODAY despite what is happening all around us. It may be helpful to add these as prayer points. The Most High’s children are called to walk in the image and likeness of the Most High. Today is a great day to ask the Most High to search our hearts and see if work is needed in any of these areas. We want to be more like Him. 🙏🏽
Shalom Aleichem🔥
