Genesis 13:14 Adonai said to Avram, after Lot had moved away from him, “Look all around you from where you are, to the north, the south, the east and the west. 15 All the land you see I will give to you and your descendants forever, 16 and I will make your descendants as numerous as the specks of dust on the earth — so that if a person can count the specks of dust on the earth, then your descendants can be counted. 17 Get up and walk through the length and breadth of the land, because I will give it to you.” 18 Avram moved his tent and came to live by the oaks of Mamre, which are in Hevron. There he built an altar to Adonai.

Yesterday we explored the beauty of having likeminded family with us as we journey through life. This morning the Spirit emphasized that separation also has its benefits. It is in the separation from Lot that the Most High visited Abraham and showed him the dimensions of the territory G-d was giving to Abraham. In that same visitation, the Most High commanded Abraham to walk through the land he was to inherit. It is often in isolation that the Most High will give intimate details of His plan and vision for His children.

I saw a meme that said “When G-d calls you, it is not a conference call.” That principle applies to this situation; G-d gave the vision or calling directly to Abraham, not Lot or Sarah. He still uses this method for His children today. Embrace the separation and understand it is often necessary, especially when G-d is about to increase you, show you details of the elevation, and show you how to walk into the new territory.

My prayer from today’s Scripture is, “Thank you LORD for Your call and plan(s) for my life. I love you and thank you for enlarging my territory. You are a loving Father, and you know what’s best for me in every season, even in separation from others. Help me to understand that isolation is often a necessary part of my spiritual walk and it is good that you lead me beside the quiet waters. I thank you for the times when you bring me to an isolated place, and I embrace this intimate time with just you and me. Amein.
