Genesis 4 The man had sexual relations with Havah his wife; she conceived, gave birth to Kayin [acquisition] and said, “I have acquired a man from Adonai.” 2 In addition she gave birth to his brother Hevel. Hevel kept sheep, while Kayin worked the soil. 3 In the course of time Kayin brought an offering to Adonai from the produce of the soil; 4 and Hevel too brought from the firstborn of his sheep, including their fat. Adonai accepted Hevel and his offering 5 but did not accept Kayin and his offering. Kayin was very angry, and his face fell. 6 Adonai said to Kayin, “Why are you angry? Why so downcast? 7 If you are doing what is good, shouldn’t you hold your head high? And if you don’t do what is good, sin is crouching at the door — it wants you, but you can rule over it.” 8 Kayin had words with Hevel his brother; then one time, when they were in the field, Kayin turned on Hevel his brother and killed him.

1 Peter 5:8 Stay sober, stay alert! Your enemy, the Adversary, stalks about like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. 9 Stand against him, firm in your trust, knowing that your brothers throughout the world are going through the same kinds of suffering.

I was led to those Scriptures last night as the Spirit wanted to bring to the children of the Most High’s attention that Hevel (Abel) was killed due to sin, misguided hatred and anger, in operation within his biological brother not a stranger. Kayin (Cain) killed his brother, Hevel (Abel), because Abel gave his best to G-d and he did not! Hevel (Abel) was doing what was right in the eyesight of G-d. Abel took care of the “sheep” and gave his firstborn with the fat (study Leviticus 1-7 regarding the fat as the best unto the Most High). Cain took care of crops, fruit of the ground, but gave G-d a portion but not his best. Instead of Kayin (Cain) learning to do better by watching his brother, he killed Hevel (Abel) because Hevel’s (Abel’s) “love for G-d,” his “desire to please G-d with his whole heart, being, and soul,” his “giving G-d his best” angered him. So, instead of checking himself, he “snuffed out” his brother, Abel, so he would not shine so bright compared to Cain’s attempt to please G-d. (I pray you are seeing what the Spirit is saying).
Many of us are looking for the enemy to be in strangers and people we don’t know while not looking at the people that are closest to us, walking with us day-to-day and not doing what they are supposed to do and hating us or angry because of what we do. The LORD has warned that person like he warned Cain (Kayin) that “if he/she does not do what is good, sin is crouching at the door — it wants him/her, but he/she can rule over it.” Yet, they find it easier to attack “your shine” “your light” “your zeal for G-d” “your Romans 12:1-2 wholehearted service” rather than seek to live holier and please G-d themselves.
Beloved, I pray you feel the intensity and urgency to be sober, alert, and pay attention to who is around you. The adversary is nearer than you know and being used by people you love, worship with, and you believe they have the same heart for G-d, but they don’t! I pray that Ruach HaKodesh (Holy Spirit) opens your eyes to your surroundings and that you act accordingly!
As I was writing this post, the Spirit warned me that someone close to me is angry because I use the Complete Jewish Bible for my blog posts instead of the King James Version we were raised on. I was raised on it too, yet I kept moving forward chasing more of the Most High on the path I was told to follow. This blog is a mandate from the Most High for me in this season for His children learning our Hebraic roots. Family, hasatan, the enemy, is nearer than you may think.
I was hurt to have to write this post, but I was more afraid of being disobedient to the Spirit’s leading by not giving the warning. Brothers and sisters, anger, hatred, jealousy, envy, etc. are sinful and real. Do not put your trust in man! In 5787, learn to trust the Most High who created you and formed you in His image and likeness. He wants you to be aware and succeed. If He is sending the warning, pay attention. (cf. Psalm 146:3, Proverbs 3:5-6; Jeremiah 17:7-10; Genesis 1:26; 3 John 1:2-4).
If you are the one with the sinful spirit (anger, jealous, envy, pride, etc.) and ruled by it, this message is for you. Learn to run your life by the Spirit, crucify your flesh, and get rid of the old nature (cf. Galatians 5:1-26). The Messiah died that we might be free of sin (read yesterday’s Morsel). Kayin (Cain) did not heed the Most High’s warning to learn to rule over that sinful nature, and he killed his brother (read Genesis 4 in its entirety).
I was led to end by saying, “Be encouraged, the Most High is with us and He would not have us to be ignorant.” Don’t “downplay” when the Holy Spirit shows you a person’s character or where they are, especially if they are not hungry for truth and doing their best like you are trying to please G-d. You are being told so you can pray for them and be sober and alert!
Thank you Most High for instruction.🔥
