Isaiah 55:8 “For my thoughts are not your thoughts, and your ways are not my ways,” says Adonai.
9 “As high as the sky is above the earth are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.
10 For just as rain and snow fall from the sky and do not return there, but water the earth, causing it to bud and produce, giving seed to the sower and bread to the eater;
11 so is my word that goes out from my mouth —it will not return to me unfulfilled; but it will accomplish what I intend, and cause to succeed what I sent it to do.”

In prayer and devotion this morning, I was speaking to the Most High that a specific word I received for yesterday had not happened and asked (my sad but true go to line) “Did I do something wrong?” And I heard nothing. Then I heard something that shocked me, and I was sad and not sure how to respond. Sidebar: Family, the Most High wants to have dialogue with us. He loves us and after reading the book of Numbers, I have learned He loves when we bring His word back to Him. Back to the post: So I said, I am sad and I don’t know what to do with this, it’s not what you said would happen and before I went anything further, I heard, “It did happen yesterday, look from my perspective at it. And, I said the second thing to see if you were going to remind me of what I had said to you before.”
So, I started looking at the situation and guess what Family? It did happen. It was not the way I would think it would happen, but it did. I had said those exact words to my accountability and prayer partner in jest but I meant it. The Most High hears our every word, and Beloved, He will remind us of them at the right moment. I had to laugh and repent and thank Him for loving me.
As for the second thing, Holy Spirit had said, “To start late today.” I woke up on time but wanted to be obedient. I had not heard how to approach the test for today. I did my prayers and devotion, fed my cat, moved some boxes, got my first 32 ounces of water and sat back on the sofa, and the answer came. There are times when being still and waiting for how the Most High wants you to approach a thing or keep walking through your day until the answer comes is the best way to handle the situation. I say it is the only way. I have to say something really hard to accept, “Many of us say we wait on G-d and His timing, but we really don’t! We expect Him to move in our time frame.” I start work usually between 3-5 am depending on my queue. I expected an answer by then but it did not happen. I had a choice, get on and start without the answer because I know I have to work, or sit and accept the answer I got and go without saying what He had told me, or do what I did. I asked the LORD to please help me understand what I am to do because I am not sure how to proceed. I did my morning routine and when that was done I sat down and the LORD spoke. I don’t know why I am sharing how I listen for the voice of G-d today, yet, I have learned that despite work clocks, deadlines, income needs, and expectations, there is not one of those things that trump the voice of the Most High. I learned that lesson years ago! True story, I was teaching then and heard, “Go late today.” So, I called in for coverage for the first class only to remember I had planning that morning so I let the office know I would be late. I finished what I had been told to finish and was heading to work. I got to the end of my road and got an emergency call where my son was ill. I turned left heading to his school instead of right towards work. I beat the ambulance to his school, rushed him to the hospital where he had emergency surgery the minute he got there. The doctor let us know a few more minutes may have been permanent damage. Needless to say, I try with all I know how to hear and move when led.
Asking the Most High about everything may be extreme to you, but it is how I have made it through these 59 years with lots of twists and turns along the way. And before I could finish the post, He confirmed it yet again.
I say all that to say these two things:
Whenever looking at a situation, make sure to see it from His thoughts and His way of doing it. Our thoughts and ways are too low for spiritual understanding if they do not align with the Most High. He speaks and it is our job to walk it and trust His way to and through it.
His word is going to accomplish what it was sent to perform. Whatever He says to you and about you, He will do just that. Don’t delay it coming forth. As verse 11b says, “ it will accomplish what I (the Most High) intend, and cause to succeed what I (the Most High) sent it to do.”
Happy Thursday, and trust G-d! 🔥
