Psalm 27: (0) By David
(1) Adonai is my light and salvation; whom do I need to fear? Adonai is the stronghold of my life; of whom should I be afraid?
2 When evildoers assailed me to devour my flesh, my adversaries and foes, they stumbled and fell.
3 If an army encamps against me, my heart will not fear; if war breaks out against me, even then I will keep trusting.
4 Just one thing have I asked of Adonai; only this will I seek: to live in the house of Adonai all the days of my life, to see the beauty of Adonai and visit in his temple.
5 For he will conceal me in his shelter on the day of trouble, he will hide me in the folds of his tent, he will set me high on a rock.
6 Then my head will be lifted up above my surrounding foes, and I will offer in his tent sacrifices with shouts of joy; I will sing, sing praises to Adonai.

As Shabbat approaches, the Ruach HaKodesh (Holy Spirit) led me to King David in Psalm 27, where he proclaims the protection and strength of the Most High that gives him the boldness and courage to stand against opposition, enemies, and even an army coming up against him. King David was a strong and mighty warrior, yet he had a heart for G-d and a sensitivity to love and sing praises to the Most High. David was a godly man confident in the masculinity and softness needed to please the LORD. Even in the face of war, he was not afraid of the fight, nor did he shrink back from the battle, and yet he could say, “Just one thing have I asked of Adonai; only this will I seek: to live in the house of Adonai all the days of my life, to see the beauty of Adonai, and to visit in his temple.” He embraces his need for intimacy with the Most High and his need to be in the presence of G-d forever.
That is a powerful combination, being strong and bold while desiring intimacy and being vulnerable, and we today need that same set of complementary antonyms, along with being a leader and servant. Only in G-d can we be both at the same time, for in the natural, how can the two exist at the same time? Yet, in G-d we can be strong and bold and courageous, because in an intimate relationship with Him, we know He is our strength and LORD. In Him, we can boldly lead an army and be the servant of the Most High, for we are chosen to serve Him. Amen!
Let us this Friday morning be like King David; despite what may be against us, let us lift up our heads above our surrounding foes and offer in His tent (in His presence) sacrifices with shouts of joy and sing praises to the Most High G-d who is our protector, our shield, our dwelling place, and our everything we need today and always.
Shabbat is approaching; let us joyfully finish this day and prepare to be with our LORD and King on a day He made for us. Be excited and live on purpose.

Pay attention to how they kept going higher and higher with confidence, using the anointed voices the Most High had given them and the training of a skilled servant leader to sing His praises.
